My Trade of the Day (Bulls/Kings)

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=1711~3207~3028~556&teams=23~23~23~4&te=&cash=

Why this works:

We get rid of Gooden and Gray, who don't go well with Rose, and we get rid of Thabo so we don't have a logjam. The Kings get compensation in the frontcourt and get a defensive backup for Kevin Martin.

Our Rotation Then:

Backcourt:

Rose/Gordon/Hinrich in which we start Rose and Hinrich. Rose plays for 16 minutes, then Gordon comes in for him, while Kirk moves to the 1, and Ben goes to the 2, and plays with Hinrich for the next 16 minutes, and then Rose comes in for  Hinrich and Rose and Gordon (who I hope brings some 4th quarter heroics like he did before) finish the game. Larry Hughes is banished to the end of the bench.

Frontcourt:

Deng, Thomas and Miller (who pretty much splits minutes with Noah 24/24) start, with Noce backing up Deng and Tyrus, and Noah backing up Brad. Demetris and Cedric play scrub minutes and blowouts.

Remember, this is just a trade of the day and doesn't necessarily mean anything

Miller is almost done

No way the Bulls don’t have to give up any real player to get Miller. The only 2 guys that I would trade for him are Hughes or Gooden, both of whom have not future with the team, which is exactly what Miller would have after his contract expires next year.

Horrible for the bulls but...

I would like to see a Hughes, Gooden, Simmons for Miller, Jackson, Thompson

Hughes and Miller almost cancel eachother out but the bulls help the glut at gaurd and the Kings make room for Hawes. Jackson is an exipering contract, but more importantly allows us to trade Kirk, as Jackson would backup the point. The Kings would get an upgrade at PF who is also an expiering contract.

Its hard to think of anyone wanting Hughes, but they dump off a similar contract and Hughes can back up the point behind Udrith, and get minutes behind Martin

I like how all the trades here

try to sneak in recent lottery picks from the other team. Why would they deal Thompson in a Miller dump?

Honestly

I dont know a whole lot about Thompson I was looking more a the Financial situation, but even still I think its a pretty fair deal. Look at some of the trades that go down around the league, Im not a fan of fantasy land trades but this isnt one.

But if you like Thompson could easily be worked out of the deal…

I don't understand

all the love for Brad Miller…..I mean sure turn back the clock a few years and I’ll take him, but he’s not worth his money at all these days (even after a slight bounce back year) and he definately ain’t worth Gooden And Gray And Thabo.

I don’t know why Gray might not eventually work ok with Rose? Gray has some inside moves….he just has to keep on the conditioning and improve.

Thabo at this point has more upside than being traded in a Brad Miller deal….Brad Miller isn’t the former Bull Brad Miller these days. This trade makes us regress, get older for the sake of getting older…..

That really was stupidgenius :).

Why I like Brad Miller

1. He’s able to stand behind huge Centers. Gooden’s strong but Miller’s stronger. This is apparently what Aaron Gray’s good for, but Miller’s better and smarter with his fouls.

2. He can hit a jump shot or pass out of set plays with Rose. Aaron Gray also cannot do this. Gooden can certainly shoot.

6784,018. Intimidation!

I’d make sure Hughes was in any Miller deal, but Gooden can be included also as Miller takes his spot and he’s signed until 2010 (meaning you wouldn’t have to worry about a FA replacement in ’09). Gray and Thabo are trade fodder.
