Bulls Make Roster Cuts.
[From the FanShots -ed.]
The Bulls waive Darius Washington and Elton Brown. I was hoping Washington would get a longer look, he is a tough player. I wonder if Roger Powell will make the final cut.

couldn't expect to keep washington
in an already crowded backcourt…
but i can’t understand cutting these guys over ruffin. he hasn’t even played in any of the games! i don’t care if he’s a vet, we don’t need his 2 pts a game, he sucks.

we don't need his
4 rebounds in 15 minutes, either.
i agree with your assessment below that brown didn’t look good, but ruffin sucks and has always sucked, and he hasn’t even played in any games for us yet this season.
not that i necessarily disagree with the cuts, but ruffin should be cut too, i’d rather have the empty roster spot, it’s practically more productive than he is.

if someone gets injured
(Gooden, Tyrus, or Noah) he can at least come in and help in that way. Just another big body to have around.

Darius
Looked nice and played better than Hughes…….so far. It’s a shame, but what can you do with too many guards already.
I think Ruffin isn’t a bad 14th or 15th man insurance policy. While he sucks in major minutes, he’s a big body that can at least have some defense in the paint.
With young guys like Noah and Gray expected to log major minutes, it’s nice to have a 3rd option C who can ride the pine as an injury reserve.

He still might get cut
Paxson usually keeps the roster at 14 and Ruffin has a non guaranteed contract.

locker room whatever
he’s not going to play anyway. Though maybe I’m just naive with respect to VDN. Most coaches find a way to play Ruffin when they shouldn’t.

See Jordan, Eddie
Enjoy Michael Ruffin guys.
You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.

Elton Brown sucked
I’m sorry. I don’t care what kind of stats he put up in the NBDL. He is not athletic enough or big enough to play inside at only 6’6. He will have a nice career in Europe, but he isn’t an NBA player.

fine by me
i’m sorry, but i don’t disagree with this. The short time that I saw Brown, he looked like crap. Washington had a nice lil burst to himself, but we have too many guards already (understatement of the day).
At least Ruffin will come in and grab a few rebounds and be somewhat of a tough presence on the floor.

If only money grew on trees, we would dump Hughes and keep DW.

nods
Washington would at least be ok with sitting the bench but would also play team ball the little he is brought out. Too bad we are stuck with Hughes. Who won’t sit quietly or play team ball when brought out.
Everything I post is speculation. I have no insider information nor ideas deemed concrete enough by those who are self-elected to regulate post content.

His age doesn't indicate he's breaking down
but his injury report does.
