''The warmups felt great,'' he said. ''Once I ran up and down the court like three times ... I mean, I'm in such bad shape right now. I really gotta get back after it because I hadn't done anything in about 10 days. It's unbelievable how fast you lose it.

Noah was out with an eye injury
Noah is going to be a problem if he cannot stay in physical shape when his limiting factor is an eye injury.
He should be on the bike, on the treadmill, and running drills. Has he been doing these things?
nods
You don’t need your eye to run a treadmill. Someone needs to keep a close watch on his conditioning. I really don’t want to see him huffing and puffing up and down the court through the first half of the season.
Everything I post is speculation. I have no insider information nor ideas deemed concrete enough by those who are self-elected to regulate post content.
Depending on the type of damage done to the eye
it’s likely he was advised to refrain from strenuous activity.

Maybe for a normal
person who sits in the office all day, but Noah is supposedly an athlete. Running a treadmill or riding a stationary bike is not strenuous for athletes. It should be routine.

maybe
they wanted to avoid getting sweat into the eye…thus, no activity

Blood flow
is the most likely reason not to do to much with that injury. shrug Doctors know best I guess.
It will be awesome to see him wear goggles during a game though. With his hair and the goggles…Benny the Bull will have run for his money.

They had the Suns practice covered on NBATV
And at least in Amare’s case he wasn’t allowed to run. They said strenuous activity increases blood flow, including to the eye which slows the eye’s healing. I would like to assume the same held true for Noah.

Thanks for the info
I guess that was a worse injury for a guy like Noah than I had thought. He already had conditioning issues. Who knew a bad poke to the eye could compound that.

Noah sure does talks about getting in shape a lot
He’s admitted that his conditioning was a problem both last season and during the summer league. Apparently his conditioning is still a problem. Does he ever plan on actually improving his conditioning?
Someone should tell him...
…that smoking is not good for conditioning.
