Vinny Del Negro good-vibes story day
Just part of the feel-goodery surrounding VDN's first practice, as a coach, ever.
It'll all be mocked if the season goes in the tank, but for now the quotes are all smile-inducing, not the least of which this one from Derrick Rose:
This is great. I woke up early around 7 o'clock. Practice was at 9:30, but I really couldn't believe it that I'm finally in the NBA. So I got up early thinking that I was a professional, getting here early, warming up and all that stuff. It made me feel good.
Makes me feel good too.

gotta like a kid
who wants to start off being professional.
And I have a feeling Vinnie is going to be the anti-Skiles. Having lunch with the players? Wild.
Speak of the devil
I read this with a tear of nostalgia in my eye:

Oh, those Bucks are in for some fun!
I can't even agree sarcastically
I actually do have nostalgia for Skiles. It’s all cycles: hard ass coach to softie coach and back again. The Bulls needed a lunch buddy, the Bucks need a hardass. I think it’ll work out for both.

(until Malik Allen and Adrian Griffin get significant PT, of course)

And Redd
is forced into a ‘sixth man’ role – can’t wait for that.
That's freaking hilarious
Redd can play 6th man but log 32 minutes because Skiles wants him to come off the bench.
I bet Scott misses Duh.
Griffin might help soften that blow though.
Clocks are for lazy fucks!
You get em’ Skiles

heh, Duh on the same day:
This is awful. I woke up early around 10 o’clock. Practice was at 9:30, but I really couldn’t believe it that I’m still in the NBA. So I got up early (for me) thinking that I had to throw up, getting to my porcelain god, dry heaving and all that stuff. It made me feel better, but still hungover.

30-52 season here.
"I’m gonna rise up, gonna kick a little ass. Gonna kick some ass in the USA. Gonna climb a mountain, gonna sew a flag, gonna fly on an eagle. I’m gonna kick some butt, gonna drive a big truck. I’m gonna rule this world. I’m gonna kick some ass. I’m gonna rise up, gonna kick a little ass. Rock, flag, and eagle!"
The only words I want to hear out of VDN's mouth are...
“Rose is the starter at point guard.”
I’m not interested in whether or not he took the team to the Golden Nugget for a 2 AM, post-club snack.
LSU 38 OHIO STATE 24 - LSU IS THE NATIONAL CHAMPION AND I AM THE KING OF BOURBON STREET!!
What I really wanna know is
WHY DID THIS HAPPEN?
Tyrus Thomas and Cedric Simmons were asked to run extra sprints at the end of the morning session
Tyrus already acting a fool?
That bothered me too
It couldn’t have been just horse play. Maybe they lost a contest, free throws for example.
