ugh, what bullshit
the team gets to vote on the suspension? what have they earned as a group to decide anything?

I hope Boylan never gets another job due to this garbage so far. Letting Ben Wallace run everything. (not literally, as he can't run anymore)

If anyone recognizes insubordination
it's Ben Wallace, right?

It just seems so odd.

really, it's just a bad career move
if you're going to cater to a player, don't do it with one with one foot towards retirement. Dumbass Boylan.

by your friendly BullsBlogger on Jan 13, 2008 1:13 PM CST up reply actions

Wallace had an issue
and decided to create his stink in the middle  of a game.  That is fifty times worse than anything done during practice.  To make matters worse, his issue was about a f*%$#$g headband.  His punishment was to have a few meetings with Pax, whose hands were tied because the more Wallace decides to go on holiday, the worse Pax looks for giving him $60 million.

It's insulting to fans who pay some of the highest prices in the league for tickets.  Some of the season ticket holders in my section say they are done after this year.  I don't blame them.

Or Maybe
Noah did something hanious enough to warrant the team, coach, and players from rewarding him for such actions with pt in a game with his (gator) buddy and  virtually in gator country. whatever it was it had to be good, for a rook that is.

by Rusty LaRue on Jan 13, 2008 1:53 PM CST up reply actions

This is the 10th game post-Skiles,
so all those "last 10" stats will now be the "new and improved" Bulls.  Also, the final-straw loss to Houston comes off the last-10 today, and a W will give the guys a positive scoring margin over that period.

...more likely they realized that a young rookie getting into a verbal altercation with an assistant coach is not only disrespectful, but is also an indication of how that player views authority, and even perhaps how he views his own teammates.  kudos to the team.

...it's
it's a respect issue.  noah has been in the league all of 2 months and he's already calling out bulls coaching staff?  kind of like he critiqued the bulls play after his first game of the season?  the kid is eager and energetic, but he's on a different page as the team, and they're having trouble getting him on the same page.  sometimes it takes tough love to get it done.

if you look at noah's responses to his second day of suspension, he still sounds like a little kid that got his dessert taken away.  once he grows up a little and learns how take responsibility for his own actions, i'd love for him to take ALL of wallace's minutes.

I don't care if they miraculously come back
and win, this team is a disgusting mound of diarhhea.

ALLOWING THE ATLANTA HAWKS TO SCORE SEVENTY POINTS IN ONE HALF.

Unreal. What the fuck happened to the defensive intensity of this team?

Someone should be fired for this performance.

One series epitomized what a bunch of unathletic pussies we have on this squad. Late in the second quarter, Deng drove into the lane and fired up a wild half hook. One of the Bulls got a rebound, then the Bulls passed it around on the interior three or four times, but no one, not a single shitty player, had the athleticism to rise up and finish at the rim. Instead, Smith attempted a weak layup that was partially blocked and then rebounded by the Hawks. The Hawks then proceeded to push the ball up the court and scored easily on a resounding alley-oop dunk.

Oh, and if Kirk Hinrich tries that fucking moronic one on five transition jumer from the elbow again, HE should be suspended. He did it two times in a row, badly missing both (and claiming a foul, of course), during a critical stretch in the second when we could have crawled back into contention.

But the defense is worst of all.

I can forgive shooting woes, but the lack of defense is atrocious. That's simply a matter of effort and focus.

For 10 games
New coach has stressed offense at expense of defense because "they've always been good there". Check out the difference between this one and the ugly one w/Hawks (Nov 27). Some here were in anguish over a win, due to pathetic offense then. But this is a def team first: in earlier ugly game they shut down an ATL that's not exactly explosive. 6 1/2 weeks later, here's what we've got.

At least we should get to see TT and Gray in meaningless PT later on...

DeAndre Jordan
But my hope is they fall somewhere around 13 to 16 and Kevin Love falls to them

LMAO at the patented Gordon
drive. He drives in, gets blocked by a larger player, and falls down.

The team is getting to be so predictably pathetic it is almost comical. I have to laugh.

Bringing in TT
with Khryapa and Griffin, I could kill Boylan.
Insert sarcasm here.

by MarketMaker on Jan 13, 2008 3:20 PM CST reply actions

Believe it or not, Boylan, playing
Tyrus is garbage time won't help him develop. No one on either team is taking the game seriously by that juncture. I don't think Tyrus is learning anything other than how to be humiliated.

hey now
we don't know if Boylan's making these decisions. Maybe the team voted Tyrus to play garbage time.

Trade any of the following
Wallace, Hinrich, Duhon, Noah, Thabo, draft picks for Mcgrady. I don't care if he plays 70 games a year. Get him if hes out there. We suck. I rather pay mcgrady all that money then ben wallace and hinrich.

I want blood for this loss.
I have nver been this angry about a Bulls' loss. This was the easiest ten game stretch of the season. I thought they could finish 8-2. Instead, because of losses to ATL and NY, they'll be lucky to go 5-5. That's uncceptable.

But I won't get any satisfaction. No blood.

The best I can hope for is that Paxson will realize that there is very little possibility of making the playoffs, even with a limited rotation. Hence, he should order Boylan to play the youth extensively regardless of outcome. At least the team can salvage something for next season.

Agree - it is time to play our young guys
extensive minutes.  We need to see what we have.  This includes TT, Noah, Grey and Thabo.  Then we can make decisions about next season.

I'm glad that game is over
And Bulls lost by 20 not by 6.Pax,any ideas????

So 10 games ago Bulls play so badly
against Houston, and Skiles subsequently gets fired.  What does a 21 point loss to Atlanta get us?

Any chance Du drops out of the starting lineup after another horribly anemic offensive game?

They can start voting someone out of the locker room after each loss.

Gordon's being "a different player"
off the bench does seem more than offset by Duhon's offensive decrease as a starter........

I'm no GM, but I don't see a single trade
or a single draft pick that will alleviate the team's problems in one fell swoop.

Unbelievably, I think the franchise has somehow gotten itself in a position where it will take at least two more seasons to get back into contention for a title. Sure, the playoffs are still within reach, but not a championship.

Look at what Boston did
They just gave all their youngsters away for pretty much 2 stars and now they're amazing.

Keep hope alive.

Maybe the Bulls somehow DO get Gasol and TMac

Except you're forgetting
the fact that those guys suck.

My evidence: Both were expected/projected to be better (like Bulls) before season, especially HOU. But everyone's known KG was keeping that team in the playoff hunt for years with NO support. SEA underachieved, but not to the same degree as Rockets and Grizz, and usually it was due to injury (to Allen himself). No comparison.

I can't believe anyone who's seen much of Gasol or McGrady really wants them. If you consider the contracts, they're nothing close to being valuable in terms of performance per dollar players. Much less saviors of the Bulls!

If Grizz could trade Gasol for Garnett, how much better would they be? Or Rockets w/ Allen for TMac? In some ways, I think they're better with Head. Hasn't Yao even alluded to this recently?

Since CHI fans love to think in terms of "curses", consider the one McGrady put on himself the year (in ORL?) he proclaimed victory one game too soon. They didn't win that series, and (like Gasol) he's NEVER won a series.

If Wallace's contract is a problem for people, why would you compound it with even more $$ commitments? In other words, Wallace+Hinrich+Noc for Gasol+Tmac isn't just an improbable pipe dream, but a bit of a nightmare in the sense that it would just sustain the mediocrity.

Also forgotten in the ascent of BOS in the unexpected defense they're playing, due to KG sure, but especially the Thibedeux guy as assistant.

I didn't set out to pick on you, Option. I've just been seeing too much of this on the board without responding to any of it.

And I hate to dampen dreams of a quick and easy solution via trade, but it's gonna take time and it's gonna take playing the kids. I think the short guards coupled with the short center isn't gonna work.

Maybe this response belongs in the trade thread(s), but I'd rather have it hidden here, 'cause I don't want to fight with anyone. I think we're all pretty frustrated about now. Besides, I try to avoid even reading the trade threads....

I don't care
whether they give this season to the kids, make some major trades, or a combination of both.  The only intolerable action is to stand pat.  We wanted to see what our "core" could do together?  We saw.

Move on.

I just read all 183 comments...
I hope they get rid of the Froed-Cancer.  Great comments all you are all right.  Why should he be playing so much.  I am for the trade for McGrady for Wallace + a young peice.  Take anyone.  I don't see the Bulls righting the ship with Wallace on the team.

Boylan should be fired.  Paxon don't stand and do nothing make some sort of decision on something.

Finally, play the young guys!!!

Froed-Cancer...Nice
But Rockets are not idiots to take Cancer+young player for McGrady.

I'm okay with that trade
PROVIDED it means TT, Noah and Gray play more (that part should be easy!) and Reinsdorf doesn't freak over luxury tax. Meaning we resign Deng (that's a big if, harder with TMac's ascending $$$). I'd be more excited about losing Noc in the deal to gain a Scola or Head, or even Aaron Brooks (if you have to have a midget, get one with some athleticism, at least!).

McGrady may be much taller, but he shares BGordon's terrible career FG% (44 to 43%). Consider the dunk differential, and imagine how many long misses we'll see from TMac....

....answer is: many more than we currently see from BG.

by marionette on Jan 13, 2008 5:08 PM CST up reply actions

Ouch
Of the 3 players to score over double digits for Hawks, 2 of them played SG (With J.Johnson going ape shit for 37 and Josh Childress chipping in a modest 12 points).

Conversely, the Bulls SG's COMBINED for 8 points. THE HAWKS SGs OUTSCORED THE BULLS SGs BY 41 POINTS!

With Gordon's second bad shooting game in a row, and Thabo being a offensive no show, the Bulls are in all kinds of trouble. They had better prey that Gordon turns it around again or this will be a re-occurring theme.
