And the next Bulls coach will be ...

A-Drain !!!

From a SI.com article on which current players would become good NBA coaches :
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/writers/paul_forrester/01/09/players.coaches/2.html

Adrian Griffin: "He's had to battle into the NBA the hard way," Wallace said. Undrafted, a veteran of the CBA and cut in Italy, the Bulls' Griffin has made a place for himself in the NBA with hard work, smarts and defense.

A veteran forward of four different teams, "Griffin has played in a variety of systems with numerous head coaches, so he's gotten to see many different approaches," Wallace said. "He's a guy you always wanted on your team, even if he didn't have a big role because you just felt good looking to the bench in games and practice and seeing him. That stability and low-key approach that he had will serve him well one day as a head coach."

HSCS : still want to fire Boylan :-) ?

Does anyone know
why A-Drain was sitting his butt on the back of the chair Tues. night instead of sitting on the seat? He looked like a big dork sitting like a foot taller than everyone else.
Win, just win.

If Skiles played guys that were scrappy like him
I cringe at the thought of Griffin playing guys that he thinks emulate his style as a player. That would be verrrrrrrry ugly. I say we wait it out until the summer when the coaching carousel begins. Kerr and D'Antoni seem to be at odds, so if they get stomped in the playoffs again maybe he'll be out in PHX. Doubtful but not impossible.

Oh, but to dream
D'Antoni sounds so much better than retreading the likes of Jeff Van Gundy or Rick Carlisle.  I wonder if Paxson would be willing to work w/ another coach who has such a strong personality and needs specific types of players to fit his system.  Though I don't think D'Antoni totally disregards D, I also wonder if his reputation for doing such would scare away Paxson.

D'Antoni wants dual roles
He's upset that Suns owner Robert Sarver did not even make an offer for D'Antoni to become general manager.  He wants dual roles.

I don't know if any owner would be willing to make this happen though.

D'Antoni would be happy in Chicago
Because the bulls don't sell their draft picks every year or trade their best low post defender for a trade exemption that they will never use. I really don't think D'Antoni will leave PHX or end up in Chicago if he does, but it's a lot better than hoping for Rick Carlisle or Larry Brown to come here.

as long as A-Drain
isn't available to play, I'm happy.

ummm...
"He's a guy you always wanted on your team, even if he didn't have a big role because you just felt good looking to the bench in games and practice and seeing him."

personally it would make me feel even better to look over at our bench and see an antonio mcdyess or a sam cassell rather than an adrian griffin.

I don 't know
Seeing Sam Cassell might give you a fright.

i
still can't believe cassell is 38 years old.  looks like he's 25.  ok, ok, he looks like a 25 year old martian.  happy??

Personally
For the money they make, I'd love to look over the bench in videos and see me sitting there.  I mean what is Griffin making, almost $1.6M dollars....

I'm sure I would be a guy that some would feel good about just seeing me sit on the bench....

Of course some fans might not like it, but I'd love it.

Adrian Griffin
might be ok, but he should earn "this right" in a lessor role first somewhere...

Rather have
Adrian Griffin coaching from the bench, rather than playing on the court.
im trying hard to become the next kirk hinrich, therefore im doing nothing more than being the next chris duhon.

My Short List

(1)   John Paxson

(2)   Larry Brown

(3)   B.J. Armstrong

(4)   Kenny Smith

Is it me or does Lebron walk like a duck?!

For what?
Brown is the only guy on that list who might want to coach.  All the rest want to be or are GM's.

You're all wrong
The Bulls have been saying behind closed doors that they're very interested in making Stacey King their next coach.  If he doesn't succeed immediately they can put him out on the floor, most likely to take minutes away from BW.
