Paul Gasol

So for all of you still bitching about how we didn't trade for Pau Gasol last year please refer to his weakass european championship preformence. Evidently, according to Sheridan, Pau choked underneath the pressure of the big game atmosphere and missed five very crucial free throws down the stretch in a game where Spain, who the favorites of the tourney, lost to Russia by one point. Oh, and also Gasol had the turnover, being stripped of the ball by Russia's American born point guard, that lead to Russia's game winning shot. And another thing, Gasol allowed AK-47 to score 17 points despite being held off the floor with foul trouble. I know the bulls would not have relyed on Gasol to defend the other team's offensive big man, but did you really want to morgage our team's future on a guy that can't hit his free throws down the stretch and turns the ball over at the last second?

side note this post does not even address Gasol's character issues, which are plentiful enough for a post of thier own.

Come on!
ONE GAME... JUTS ONE GAME.... just another stupid post....had Spain won that game (they lost by 1) Gasol wouls have been named MVP of the tourney.....
You cant judge a player by one game

just one game?
the championship game of any tournament is more than just one game. lot's of players are great when there is no pressure to preform, but stink it up when the pressure is on. yes, he has preformed on an international level before ('06). but i'm just not 100% sold on how good he can actually ever be in the nba, because lets face it winning an NBA is the hardest thing to accomplish as a basketball player.

Just one game....
He has performed GREAT on the NBA, dont start that thing about a player being a god on international basket but stinking in the NBA...
Last time I checked.... he won a MVP over the likes of Wade, Carmelo and Lebron who couldnt reach the finals of the 06 Worlds....
come on... even the all mighty Jordan choked on some high level games when  he was younger.......

ummm great?
he a good NBA player, but i certainly would not call him great- you have to have a complete game in order to win that distinction (ie be a presense on both sides of the court). and let's face it, yes gasol has a great offense presense and is a good paser, but is not that great on D and turns the ball over too much to be considered an all around player.

you're obviously a Gasol expert
I mean, I certainly didn't know his name was Paul.

you're obviously a PaxJac expert
I mean, your off track comments are similiar to his.  hscs let the guy make his point.  If this diary is from JoeJoe, I really miss that guy he would post all the time and really explained how he felt.  Which was quite refreshing.

nice call
If you were not already aware that a young man named Ryan used to operate under the moniker PaxsonJackson and has reinvented himself as hscs, then a doff of the cap to you for your astute recognition of tone and/or writing style (but more probably tone).
Score. Or do not score. There is no clutch.

it's a stupid tone
if it comes across as know-it-ally, but my point was the Gasol ripping in this diary is extremely half-assed.

I know it's hard
but you should ignore it and them, especially when it's this dumb.

yeah, yeah, yeah
I couldn't resist. I'm looking forward to finding out Pau Gasol's favorite color, and why it's a character flaw.

i'm just saying...
i'm glad the bulls stuck with their core and did not trade for PAU gasol. i don't really like his crybaby soft european style and am glad to see him choke in a "big" game (he certainly won't be playing any "big" games for the griz next year). sorry if it offends his fan club here, but i'm hating on him...

What exactly are his "character issue?"
I love how the term "character issues" is used in sports to describe anything ranging from griping about a coach to serious felonies like rape and murder.  Rae Carruth has some "character issues," but I don't know about Gasol.

gasol
The grass is always greener on the other side. Gasol is an ok player top 30 not 10 or 15. If memphis turned down deng or gordon and a first rounder then the bulls are better off without him. That being said Gasol like most nba players has blemishes in his game that needs correction. Starting with his defense, toughness, and attitude.
