Pax, PLEASE do not trade Chapu...

Chapu is so valuable to the Bulls that John Paxson made the rare move of a proactive offer to a restricted free agent.

Andres is the LIFE & SOUL of the Bulls and the symbol of the new generation of the Chicago Bulls. Nocioni averaged 14.1 points and 5.7 rebounds during the 2006 - 2007 season but was unfairly criticised from many haters for a poor performance against Detroit in the 2007 playoffs which was mainly due to the fact that he battled pain from plantar fasciitis in his right foot and a strained right quadriceps muscle.

His great performance against Miami in the 1st round of the 2007 Playoffs was quickly forgotten by an unforgiving media.

PAX you have made the first step in re-signing Chapu. Please do not trade him as part of any transfer deal. Noce is UNTOUCHABLE...

agreed...WOW
sounds like a budding bromance between Vangelis and Chapu...definite man crush going on there.  Even though he has a long term deal now, I hope that there is someone out there who will take him. It's time for a trade.

LIFE AND SOUL?!?
That's a little over the top don't you think? I don't feel there is one piece of this team that is "THE" life and soul. They play as a team and all the parts compliment each other.

Trade his ass
and get us something useful with two good feet.
Gordon, Nocioni, Duhon, Khryapa for Gasol is a really bad idea.

I would be fine replacing the
"life and soul" with "scoring and real defense".

Is there a better comment thread
to place my Nocioni trade scenario? (via RealGM)

From the News-Herald:

The Cavaliers' one-two punch at power forward might be as talented, productive and deep as any in the NBA. (ha! -ed.)

If the Cavaliers are forced to match an offer sheet to Varejao from the Memphis Grizzlies that they deem exuberant, league sources say they have entertained thoughts of dealing Gooden.

The Cavs are already paying Gooden $6.4 million this year. In their thinking, they can't justify paying Varejao more than the starter.

So why not pay the lunch box swinging backup Nocioni instead? Duhon and Nocioni would fit in the Cavs slow-mo system, and their combined salaries would help Cleveland get rid of Ira Newble who barely saw the court last year. I'm not a capologist, so the trade machine needs to be updated before I can be accurate with salaries. I would take a real power forward over Nocioni, even an average one like Gooden.

the extension has to be signed
and official too. I have no time for this cap nonsense.

Right next to the
save Tyson "I don't have any work ethic for five years, until I get my big paycheck and then feel insulted when my ass gets traded" Chandler diary.
Gordon, Nocioni, Duhon, Khryapa for Gasol is a really bad idea.

If nocioni is the life and soul of the bulls
then Duhon gets to be the pancreas or something

More like
the prostrate, you only notice him when he isn't doing his job correctly.
And with the 9th pick the Bulls select...

or the spleen
part of the body, but serves no purpose

by cliff levingston on Jul 8, 2007 9:26 PM CDT up reply actions

Or not.....
the spleen destroys old red blood cells and also stores extra blood.

I assume you were thinking of the appendix, which is believed to not have served a function ever since our herbivore ancestors evolved into omnivores a few million years ago.

Gordon, Nocioni, Duhon, Khryapa for Gasol is a really bad idea.

yes...
thanks for the correction

by cliff levingston on Jul 9, 2007 3:06 AM CDT up reply actions

Wouldn't he be
something more crucial to the bulls since Noc is the Life and Soul?
Isn't he more like the heart in this scenario?

In reality they both are Skiles crutches, so lets get rid of them both.

I'll need to refer you to
a laker fan I know. He claims Pax made the mistake of a lifetime trading Chandler. I was wondering if me and this laker fan saw the same Chandler in a Bull uniform (i'm not a bulls fan I might add).
Michael Jordan is overrated...except for those 6 titles 4 MVP's DPY and other things like Bryon Russell's ankle...

Dedicated to all Nocioni Haters....
The Bulls are still young, but everybody has more experience and everybody is improving (especially Kirk, TT, Luol & BG) and can play much better. We have great chemistry. Guys like Noce (other than the 14.1 points and 5.7 rebounds per last year) help  to keep the team together and try to have continuity. Plus the fact that this guy tries harder than ANYONE else in the League.

I truly believe that the signing of, say, Smith or Mihm plus the draft additions of Noah and combo guard JamesOn Curry and the return of Nocioni will be enough for the Bulls to take the next step and get to the Finals next year. You need to BELIEVE in this team...

by Vangelis on Jul 10, 2007 4:18 PM CDT reply actions

In that case...
... why is Pax not paying HIM $38 mil? Oh yes, I forgot... he's like 45 years old...
