Anybody informed on Nazr Mohammed?
A guy who seems to be forgotten is Nazr Mohammed. Remember, last year he was the Bulls 2nd choice behind Ben Wallace when they were in the market for a big man.
Could the Bulls make a deal with Detroit for Nazr to get that inside scorer? Of course he isnt a big name guy, but seems to be able to get the job done.
However, I don't know the situation of why he didnt play last year and in the playoffs much. Is it just because Chris Webber moved him out of the rotation? Or was he some kind of problem child? Or did he and the management just disagree?
Did he just underperform? And if so could it be because of the situation he was in? Maybe he could turn it around with the Bulls.
Anyway, if he could be a decent inside scorer, which before last year the Bulls thought he could be, would he be worth going for? I mean he could probably be had uber cheap, the Pistons dont really need both him and Dale Davis to chill out on the bench and do nothing? Maybe we could throw a low first round pick or sweetney or something at them.

He's not forgotten at all.
He's actually efficient in his incredibly limited minutes.
--BUT--
His contract is too big and too long for someone who's only going to play 10-15 minutes per game. And would more than likely be declining from here on out.
At least that's my opinion.

Well...
There's 96 minutes between the two bigs. Wallace will get 30-35, Thomas should get at least 20-25. Noah will probably 15-20 and Gray another 5-10. That's 70-90 minutes with 6-26 available. (And of course this has no mention of Nocioni playing for the Bulls)
And so, I guess, theoretically, that would work for next year. But by the following year, 2008-2009, there's going to be even less available for Mohammed. And I'd almost guarantee, by his second year, Noah will be outperforming Mohammed.
Maybe if it were one or even two years. But for someone who's about to turn 30, it's just too long.

actually...
That said, Nazr's strength is not scoring, it's rebounding. Bulls need scoring. If you're going to give a big man a long-term deal I'd rather give it to Noc than Nazr. Although Nazr is taller, and that seems to be the only thing anyone cares about.
