Another Bulls blog picks up my slack

Say hello to 'Only the Bulls' (and hello to hscs's revived blog, since he alerted me to this site), a Bulls blog who I assume got it's name after that radio jingle that's in my head but I can't quite place as from where. Is it on the official telecasts? ("only the one and only...CHICAGO BULLS!")

Anyway, they have a take on the news of the weekend, touching on Nocioni's contract (front-loaded, which makes things slightly more palatable), Ben Gordon's agent switch, and rumblings on Luis Scola.

Yes, that's what the dynamic Pepsi League
announcing crew said.

AS I try not to look at tats (why, why would anyone willingly have a needle stuck on their skin to form a picture?), I can't say if he has or hasn't.

Chandler Tats
Let's hope Tyrus doesn't go the way of Tyson Chandler, who came back after every offseason at the exact same, puny weight, but with more and more tatoos.

On Bulls blogs
I like the new one.  It'd make my life easier if these guys merged, seeing as how they're all Blogspot brethren, but all good.

Shhhh...
We had been plotting a hostile takeover, but I suppose that cat's outta the bag now.

And while you're at it
Check and see if this guy is still alive... might not be after the Bulls lost game 3 to the Pistons.

A Scola trade question
If Pax trades for him do we have "Bird Rights" with him or do we have to sign him while still being under the cap?

by LD9 on Jul 11, 2007 12:48 AM CDT reply actions

Rookie Contract
So you can sign him and go over the cap, the problem is with the buy out.  I'm not exactly sure how that would work.

by Wade.Jones on Jul 11, 2007 3:30 AM CDT up reply actions

Buy-out
I believe the buy out is not taken into account when calculating the luxury tax.  Not that this is a solid indication but thats how it works in other sports (Baseball-yankees buy out kei igawa's contract)

by Sambossanova on Jul 11, 2007 12:07 PM CDT up reply actions

he was a second-round pick
so to sign him they have to use their exception money.

by your friendly BullsBlogger on Jul 11, 2007 8:40 AM CDT up reply actions

but
they can give him the minimum exception....the CBA allows you to give as many minimum salaries as needed to fill out roster

in miles' typing news, the new version of Firefox has spell check embedded in typing. Yay for readability!

by milesgmsu on Jul 11, 2007 11:35 AM CDT up reply actions

right, I said they can use their exception
I could have said exception(s), but Scola's not coming over to make the minimum, sheesh.

Thanks for the Link!
Means a lot to a new blog. Been a long time reader here, great stuff. Definitely NOT competition(it's a community!). Oh, and I believe the song is still played before every game.

just wait
The Fanhouse could grace you with less than 5 readers any day now.

by hscs on Jul 11, 2007 8:37 AM CDT up reply actions

Nice Job
Remember a healthy Nocioni, the one you loved.

by Option27 on Jul 11, 2007 10:06 AM CDT up reply actions

The Song...
I believe was played before every game during one of the second 3-peat years..

There was also a song with the lyrics.. "guess who's back... the red and white bulls"

hence my signature...

The red and white

I don't think he was that small last year.
I mean, he wasn't Alonzo Mourning or Kevin Willis, but he wasn't Kevin Durant or Adam Morrison, either.
Yes, of course.

Great Skiles Quotes
I love the Skiles quotes under the Linton Johnson III article.  Especially this one:
"Linton, obviously, stands out with 13 defensive rebounds, which is very impressive considering our center (Eddy Curry) got 1."

I needed to post this somewhere
because it is hilarious from the Simmons Chat at ESPN.

Eric (Raleigh, NC): How did Antonie Walker prevent the robber from getting a shot off?

Bill Simmons: (12:53 PM ET ) Now THAT is a good joke.

by kingj41 on Jul 11, 2007 12:29 PM CDT reply actions

I saw that!
It was a great joke!
thing is that his readers are funnier than he is...
The Future is bright!
