I can only see a victory happening tonight if the Bulls play a near-perfect game. I just think Detroit isn't going to sleepwalk through another one, especially at home.

But think of the fun times it'll bring to have Pistons fans collectively freak out if they lose again. Whether it's a justified freak-out or not.

the Pistons!!  This series is starting to take on a similar tone to the Cavs/Pistons series from last year....Sure, the Pistons eventually win, but they didn't have much left for the Heat....

I believe there are two reasons...
  1. He is used to it, and doesn't feel right without wearing it.
  2. He is still afraid of breaking his nose, if he does break it again he will be in jeopardy of ending his career.

our crappy rebounding.

Why can't we rebound well and shoot well in the same game? It's especially annoying to see our guards get outrebounded on the offensive boards.

Gordon's "defense" drives me crazy. He's really been exposed on the defensive end in this series.

Pitiful first half, but again, even the most blindest of homer doesn't see CHI shooting 70%+ in the 2nd half.  But with the way DET is playing D, I wouldn't be surprised.

Slow on rotation, poor man to man d, got stops when the zone was put in (way too late into the 2nd quarter)

My parents live in Oregon
and they don't have them there, either, at least up until recently.  When they visited me my mom was SO excited to see a Sonic after seeing those commercials that she insisted we eat there.  Too bad the food's nothing special!

Gotta give credit to this team
They didn't give up. 1 road quarter away from making it 3-2 and 4 home quarters away from tying the series. Looks like they forgot about being down 0-3 and are just fighting and clawing at possession. If they win tonight the pressure is entirely on Detroit. They were supposed to close this team out, yet have failed twice. Meanwhile, why would the Bulls hold anything back?

I don't think the Pistons' buttholes are very loose tonight.

Chicago connection
The passenger in those Sonic adds lives here Chicago, or at least he used to.  A few of us used to get together, drink beers and watch football games.  I never laughed so hard.  The guy is hilarious.  His roommate at the time (also an actor; also hilarious) talked him into ditching his 9-5, throwing caution to the wind, and seeing what happened.  Good move.

I didn't want to mention this, b/c it makes me seem more obsessed than I am... or than I want to appear, but anyways, Ben Gordon blogs about his shoes ALL THE TIME.  He gets dozens of shoes from Nike regularly.  The man is in love with his shoes.  He might play just for the shoes. (And the obligatory house for the mama.  And mansion.  And Escapade, etc.)  I'm not sure why his shoelaces need tying, but this is a man who is aware of what's going on with his feet.  Being that they're a major part of his income, I can understand that.

Note: I only checked his blog quickly to see if there was any basketball analysis or insight into Ben Gordon's character.  At least I cleared up this point.

1st Quarter Recap
[I know this is late, but this is what I had when my internet went bonkers on me].
Kirk was getting good penetration throughout, particularly early, but also on that last play.  I wanted Thabo out there too, but Duhon has played well.  Anyone else think Gordon should've stayed out there while he's hot?  If he gets a third, he has three fouls, but he'd pick up that third inthe same amount of court time anyway.  Just try not to foul.  He's gonna play the same minutes later anyway.  This way, we get him while he's in rhythm (and most valuable), and the Pistons may reorient whole O to attack him, get out of their own rhythm.
Also, while Ben Wallace can't shoot, he draws fouls, which are useful for getting their bigs on the bench.
And that was a GREAT spin by Deng, type of stuff we need from him aside from basic cuts.
Rest of analysis will come later.

I saw the game at
ESPN Sportszone downtown and it was so much fun. There was a woman there wearing a Pistons Jersey and Cap and I just kept heckling her. She kept clapping everytime the Pistons made a play so I did the same. It's on to game six. It's about time the Bulls started playing like the team we thought they were. LOL
I'm so happy that Skiles finally played Thabo and Tyrus more. If you trust in them they will come to play. So now let's see what happens in Game 6. I am so looking forward to it.

as you all do. I mean, I love the way our guys have played. But I still have a hard time thinking or believing that we take two more from the Pistons, especially the Thursday game at the UC...I mean don't you think the Pistons can respond? Let's give some respect to what is truly a great team. It's gonna take the Bulls all the possibly have to give for a victory in game six at the United Cetner. I might be going and I'm sure the fans will do all they can, but I just dont see it being very easy to do against there terrific Detroit Pistons. The Bulls need to play perfectly here and there in games Six and Seven, and assuming it even gets that far is a risk.
