TOP 5 Games of the week.

The regular season is about over.  We have 3 more exciting days to watch the standings and pray for the highest pick possible.  I am pretty jealous today of those who own league pass because I will probably only have a chance to watch one of these games.

Star-divide

 Here are today's standings:  http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/standings?standType=league

#1.  Bulls @ Nets  Wednesday Night.

Locking up a 50 win season is a big step for this Bulls team.  They are looking strong lately and can continue there recent stament with another big win against a playoff team (I mean a team that made the playoffs in the East.)  Let the steam rolling continue.

#2.  Bobcats @ Knicks.   Wednesday Night.

This could be a heartbreaker for the Bull's fans.  Bobcats are playing well of late and are at home.  They are playing for their jobs and hopefully the knicks have packed it in for the season.

#3.  Knicks @ Nets   Tonight.

Knicks final home game.  I hate both these teams, but I would watch the sloppiest game to see another Knick loss.  Hopefully the Nets will be getting ready for the playoffs with a blowout win and not resting their players.  The Nets are only five point favorites in this game.

#5  Jailblazer's at Jazz   Tonight.

The only positive thing I see in this game is the Jazz cannot move up or down in the standings with a win or a loss.  This game would put Portland at 33 wins if they can pull it out.

#5   Seatle vs Dallas.  Wednesday night.

Sonics last home game.  Can they really win this game?  I doubt it, but this blog will be going insane Thursday morning if the sonic's could pull off a win that would tie them with the Knicks.

Best Case Scenario for the Bulls...

worst record- Griz
2nd worst - Celtics
3rd- Bucks
4th - Hawks

5th (tied at 32 wins)-  Sonics & Knicks
6th (tied at 33 wins)-  Kings, Trailblazers, Twolves.

Im guessing we get the 7th spot in the lottery, but this should be a fun week.

There's a big significance on 50 this season
50 in the Bulls' win record, and 50 in the Knicks' loss record.

Hopefully both will pan out.

how could you forget cleveland games
those have to be #2 and #3...not to mention sacto t-wovles, sonics, portland games...all must win

Um, aren't Cleveland's remaning games important as
well?

If they lose one (highly unlikely), we lock up the two seed.

I didn't forget
We control our own destiny.  Take care of NJ and we are the #2.  Then, I am looking towards the playoffs and the draft.

Did Toronto
have the same odds as us as we currently stand last year?

This is clearly the biggest game of the night
I don't know if my heart and stomach can take another close game.  You will think I'm a nut case but most of the time I can't watch(I have LP) the Knick game until I know they are going to lose.  It upsets me too much.  I'm more comfortable checking the score on yahoo.  When the game is close these are some of the longest games because Isiah Thomas takes so many time outs.  Last night was a killer until the Raps finally secured the victory with about ten seconds to go.

Sa-WEET
The Nets-Bulls game is on ESPN at 7:30. Guess with all this newfound hype of the Bulls, they decided to put it on national television.

I'm glad. Because of mostly 3 reasons.

  • I'll get to see it.
  • ...
  • I'll get to see it.

Draft Lottery game playing...
http://espn.go.com/

On the 7th AND 8th tries, Bulls got Durant. On the tenth, they got Oden.

Out of the 12 times I clicked it, six of them they had the sixth pick and took Brandon Wright. Once they got #3 and took Al Horford.

Only once did they pick below 6. I couldn't imagine anything better than a Top 5 pick in this draft. Oden, Durant, Brandon Wright and Al Horford are all sure-fire contributors, different degrees of course. Yi Jianlian and Joakim Noah have question makers, but should still probably be good.

Anyway, it has the updated records and percentages, so thought I'd let others know.

a Nets win
would bring them to 1/2 game behind Washington and a Wizards loss tomorrow would make them tied and own the tie breaker and allow the Bulls to face Washington in the first round, meaning a get out of jail pass of the first round.

More importantly
Seattle fans get to watch another super gigantic project take up space on the bench.

slightly less importantly...
Bill Simmons could get struck by lightning, forget he's a Boston spots phan, and the Celtics would retain their status as the most annoying team ever.

agreed on both counts
without lottery gold we get to see Ainge's 'great young talent' truly develop

I should go back and dig up all the commenters who liked that Sene fella.

Im all giddy!
HAhahaha! I'm too on edge right now to put any thoughts into words... I just want this wek to be over!!! And for May 22nd to come already!

by Goostafer on Apr 16, 2007 7:42 PM CDT up reply actions

draft
Projects like Sene look inticing on draft day but I like Bulls stradegy of picking guys who have played on big time colleges and showed they know how to play.  So many of these drafted "projects" never amount to anything on the team that drafted them (if at all) so you then end up with nothing to show for draft choice.

by NY Chicago Fan on Apr 16, 2007 11:22 PM CDT up reply actions

But sometimes you have to wonder
if the Matt Millen draft-the-same-player strategy works. The Sonics' recent top picks have been Sene, Robert Swift, and Johan Petro. Somebody really loves 7 foot projects up there. If they grab Yi, Isiah Thomas has some (7 foot) stiff (har-har) competition.

by Paxson Jackson @ Blog a Bull on Apr 16, 2007 11:46 PM CDT up reply actions

i disagree with ford...
seattle already has a plethora of 7 footers...no way they take another project

by milesgmsu on Apr 17, 2007 2:33 PM CDT up reply actions

Come on!
You know the Sonics want another 7Footer.. The more the merrier... sort of like the Blazers.

I am watching the knicks game
and the garden is absolutely dead.  It's like a library in there.

C'mon T-puppies!!!
They're still hanging with Denver in at the start of the 3rd quarter...

I know this is low on the priority list here
But I wish people would quit calling the Blazers the Jailblazers.  The team is much better, both on and off the court, and I'd just as soon forget the dark years in between Clyde the Glide and the hope of the present.

It's sort of like people who persist in calling the Bulls the Baby Bulls - no longer accurate!

by wjb1492 on Apr 17, 2007 6:31 PM CDT reply actions

agreed
I'm sick of both of 'em.
