2 Sub or Not 2 Sub

The article talks about hinrich being subbed. It seems like an ongoing conversation here in this blog community, so i thought people might be intrested.

Its a decent read, and i sort of hung my head down for a little bit with the Hinrich/Grossman comparison (it was only a matter of time). I think i didnt like the way it seemed that hinrich wasnt doing much to get himself out of this rut. Though i do understand not wanting to change the way you play, i think the way hinrich has played this year, and even to an extent last year has been a step back from where he was, say, two years ago.

The slumped shoulders, and even the streaky shooting doesnt bother me. Not having outstanding numbers in points or assists isnt too big of a deal either. I think its more of what the definition of hinrich as a player is becoming. WHen i first started watching hinrich (Playoffs against the wizards) all i ever heard about him was he had excellent fundamentals. No flashiness, no quick moves, or height, or strength. Just a guy who did the little things and and did them well enough that you had to be careful around him. Then the next year against miami, and even last year, hinrich came out as one of the better defensive pgs, who didnt get blocks or steals but could shut down guys like wade (or break thier wrists).

Right now hinrich is being defined heavily by what his weaknesses, which is fair since he has  yet to show his strengths. I feel he may be trying too hard on one task any given night, trying to prove the critics who question him wrong.

What do those critics say: That he is not a real pg, that he is not a good scorer, that he is not a vocal leader, that he is not a great decision maker...and I think hinrich is trying to do all those things, which is taking him away from what his game is.

Solution: Tell hinrich to go on youtube and watch all the videos of himself, and tell him to play like that. (make sure he doesnt watch the plethora or Flip dunks on hinrich vids)
