I do not believe we are as bad as we are playig. Deng, Gordon and Hinrich were solid, reliable players for years. Hinrich and Deng are playing terribly and Gordon is unreliable. Most likly they will revert back to their normal selves which may get us close or into the playoffs. To me that is no man's land. It gives us none or a poor lottery pick and we are not good enough to compete with the elite. How do we get out of this mess?
It seems like we are at a fork in the road. We can:
1- Try to obtain a good lottery pick and shoot for improving in 2-5 years. This probably involves a trade.
2- Go after the inside presence, aka Gasol and give up a piece of the team.
The first option is painful in that we probably get worse before we get better. The second option has the risk of selling low. Except for Noc all of our players have reduced value.
What do we do?
