Around SBN: Jerry Sandusky's Wife Tries To Run A Reporter Over

(UPDATE) Luol speaks with Daily Dime. (UPDATE)

UPDATE (11/21): KC Johnson was on the Score this morning (MP3 here. Warning: contains Mike North). The interesting bit is KC saying Luol himself was the one driving these negotiations, it wasn't a case of him wanting to sign and his agent convincing him he could make more later. Take that you 'gentle Luol' pre-judgers! -Matt

This caught my eye.

No. We talked about $50 million, that was the talk. I'm happy with my decision, no matter what happens. Now it is my challenge to go out there and prove I am worth what I want. If I'm not worth that, there is no shame in that. If someone thinks I'm worth it, then they will pay it. I don't know he's not off to the greatest start considering how he fades away in games when the going gets tough. Really I think if he wants to be the man on this team he needs to show up when it really counts. Or maybe he doesn't really care to. So far I haven't been impressed with Luol. Yeah the Bulls need him to win but they need more out of him. He's been injured so that always concerns you. I'm sure some team will offer him some insane amount of money and the dude will be happy.

There is other stuff check it out.

Yea, what?
Does Whittel have a deal with Deng to write all his coverage?

It makes me wonder if Deng is already trying to play somewhere else.

uh, in England?
Whittel writes for the London times. I'm assuming they have a relationship from him covering Luol with the English national team.

I was thinking New York
It's a "worldly" enough city for all of Luol's interests off the court.  Present management and coaching would probably have to change first though.

Deng
If he doesn't start playing better he will not have to worry about how much he is worth

Everyone seemed to think last year and this summer that Deng would improve and I wasn't sold on how but it seemed to be so excepted by all the experts and fans that I didn't really fight it.  My concern has always been is that Deng doesn't draw fouls, has never shown consistant post up game, doesn't shoot the 3, and doesn't dribble or pass in traffic that well.  He couldn't shoot jump shots any better when he's already hitting so well - that was his big talent along with nice slashes to middle in the motion offense.  Yes Deng is very good player who plays both ends of court but his big scoring nights have always been when he can beat his guy up and down court, offensive rebound or shoot open jump shots or cutting off Kirk / Gordon.  He might work hard but he has always disappeared at certain times on offensive end and he's never been a go to guy in the half court when the motion offense breaks down.

I hate to be downer and really hope Bulls can salvage season as I hate to think they have fallen apart so far but if everyone could believe Deng would keep improving and reach star status then I think we have to be okay with theory that he has peaked and shown exactly who he is already as well.  Just because he is young doesn't mean he can or will get better.  There is no secret now, I'm sure teams are defending him differently after seeing what he can do so that makes it harder as well

theory that he has peaked
"Just because he is young doesn't mean he can or will get better."

No, but it's a very good certainty that he will.

I'm with you though, I'd like to see it this season before the extension talks re-open.

KC's comments on
Deng and Gordon's mindset wrt to the negotiations were disturbing.  It could be a long season if those guys are only working on getting a big payday.

Somebody
needs to start a Wiki page for the man.  I can't believe he doesn't have one yet.

by upther on Nov 20, 2007 12:00 PM CST reply actions

I was thinking
for Ian Whittell but there seems to be a Wiki for most everything so I guess JoeJoe can have one too.

what's wrong with you?
You were so optimistic.

And you want people to know you have this 'tanking' idea?

by your friendly BullsBlogger on Nov 20, 2007 2:38 PM CST up reply actions

I doubt that.
It's more likely that they win 40-45 games.

However, they won't make it far in the playoffs performing as they are.

SUCK IT SABAN!
