For those of you who have seen the Celtics it appears they are on a much higher level than the rest of the East and may be the best in the NBA. They may break the Bulls 72 game wins in a season record. I do not like to admit this but the Bulls are not even close to being competitive with the Celtics. We may somehow make the playoffs but I cannot see anyone in the East now competing with the Cs. Injuries can change this but as of now the Celtics seem the best team by far in the East and maybe the NBA.
What do the Bulls do? The Bulls are in no-man's land. We have too much talent to compete for a good lottery pick and not enough to compete for a championship. We are fortunate that we didn't sign Deng and Gordon to long-term deals. Do we dump salaries to obtain more picks? Memphis and Gasol are off to a bad start - maybe Gasol will be available. Even adding Gasol to this team does not make them competitive with Boston. Do we wait 2-3 years as Boston ages and hope we develop enough to be competitive? It is clear we are undersized at all positions and teams have found ways to exploit this deficiency. What do we do as this torture of a year goes on?
