He was scheduled to be there from 5-6PM at Steve and Barry's. The purpose was to promote the launch of his "Big Ben Wallace" clothing and shoe line.
There was a lot of people there and the lines to see him were ridiculous. I got there like 20 minutes before the appearance and of course the place was already packed.
I brought along my copy of NBA 2K7 with Shaq on the cover and planned to ask Ben Wallace write
"I owned him" and sign it.
However, The lines were way too long and I had to take care of somethings in a short amount of time so I figured I'd just stay to see him in person.
He arrived around 5:08 and there was people of the media surrounding him almost immediately. Wallace brought along his son, I guess his PR person and some other people.
According to some other groups of people, his brother Al Wallace was there too with his daughter.
Ben was wearing his corn rolls, a black hoodie, I believe gray sweat pants and a black head band, all seemed to be his Big Ben clothing products. He was freakin tall of course and I noticed he had really huge arms.
Before he started signing autographs, he was talking to the media and getting flashed by photographers. At around 5:20 he started signing autographs.
Ben simply signed autograph and occasionally smiled at the little kids who were very excited to see him. He had a quite demeanor which I expect since he is known to be a sort of quiet guy.
From what I saw, most of the fans quickly walked to him and had him sign whatever they wanted and walked off. I guess I was not the only one intimidated by his presence.
I left around 5:40. Later on my brother told me he was there too and his friend got his basketball signed by Ben.
