Around SBN: Nevin Shapiro Vows To Bring Down Miami

Juwan Howard anyone?

I know he's getting up there in age but I think it would be a smart move for the Bulls to inquire about Howard as a Bull. If the Bulls decided to move JamesOn Curry down to the DBL or maybe that ''other thing happens,'' I think it would be wise to take alook at the old Chicago product. He can still hit the 15 footer and adds a fairly solid vet to the team.

A huge IF
A contingency, based upon a contingency, based upon a contingency...yes I agree.

Regarding JHoward, the most important question is, "If the bulls can acquire JHoward, does it make the 'other thing' more probable/possible?"

7 Mil for 2 years?
would throw us into luxury tax area. and to even get him we would have to trade some nice expiring contracts / trade bait

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=351~2377~285~2435&teams=4~16~16~16& ;te=&cash=

but aside from all that, why would we even need him.  He would simply add another body to the already crowded front court, and he would only take away time from joe smith (who we signed to do what JH is doing), or some of the younger guys.

Finally, he went to Big Blue. I'm still getting over  Jamal Crawford and Jalen Rose*

*Kudos to your hawkeyes this weekend Sue. I don't want to talk about it, but if I had to choose someoone to lose to on the blog, it woulda been you

They're not trading for him
The T'Wolves are negotiating a buyout, so he would sign with the Bulls as a free agent with the idea of adding depth should we part with Tyrus and/or Joakim in "the other thing". In such an event we wouldn't need to cut anyone since "the other thing" would leave several roster spots open.

Thanks Miles

Even if Curry goes to the D-League
he still counts as a roster spot. So someone has to get cut to acquire Howard, who I don't see as being much different than Khryapa at this point.

The NBA
should change that.  It discourages teams from using the D League.  they should have 2 spots open for that, or something.
Get that out of Tyrus' House!!!!

it's collectively bargained
and the union isn't too keen on having their members on busses between Austin and Tulsa

I don't know why...
I can't speak for Austin, but the Greyhound station in Tulsa is a lovely place.

Good
Not that Howard is that good, but he's better than Big Baby Davis and Cedric Simmons (or whatever scrubs Boston and Cleveland plan to play up front).
