Hurt big men

It appears Spencer Hawes, a guy some bulls fans wanted to draft, is having arthroscopic surgery on his left knee.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3056441

Meanwhile Eddie Curry hurt his shoulder in training camp but does not require surgery at this time.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3056406

Even though the Bulls gain no advantage (as far as draft position) there is a part of me still cheering for the Knicks demise.

Update:"he's had at least four procedures, including at least two scopes on the left knee — he could be out longer." link above quote

Wow
I didn't know he had already had microfracture surgery on a knee.

Just added a link
Apparently this will be either 4th or 5th procedure (depending on how you read the quote on his knee history; it was not real clear) according to the Seattle Times.  I do not remember reading any of this during the draft.

I had no idea about Hawes' knee
Microfracture surgery at age 14?  And now scoping that same knee at age 19?  Drafting Noah is looking even better, especially after that performance last night.
I love you Ben, you almost make me forget about...tacos.

Seems the habit of rooting against the Knicks
dies hard - not that I want Eddy to get hurt necessarily, or wish most of the individual players ill on a personal basis, but New York losing still just gives me a little thrill.

Best wishes to Eddie
However, I have no sympathy for the Knicks.  I grew up in NY during the Bulls first 3 title runs and took a lot of grief from Knicks fans.  It was the perfect storm when the Bulls had the Knicks draft position.  I could openly root against the Knicks to the benefit of the Bulls.  With Isaiah running the Knicks and being the butt of the Paxson trades there is so many levels of amusement to this whole saga.  I couldn't write a better script.
