Deng Growth Spurt?

I just read on another post that Deng is now almost 6'10"?... Does anyone have any documented info on that?... I saw a Skiles post from 2005 saying that Deng grew an inch last year and he joked that Deng might be 7' by next year... 6'10" isn't bad for a swingman just starting to come into his own.. now if he could just get a little more aggressive on offense instead of settling for 15' jumpers I think the Bulls could have the east tied up with their current roster.

wow
almost another inch? if he could just pack a couple pounds on we could play him a lot more @ PF. that would b huge cuz then theres not the fight over PT with noch and AG, we could play him half and half and have more time for noch and adrian. he neeeeeeds to bulk up.

hmm....
even if deng was 6'10" and gained a few pounds, i don't think he has the game right now to switch to the 4.  if the guy could just develop some nastiness to his game, we could see him dunking over people..

This is great...
I've said all along if Noc was 6'10, our problems would be solved. But I forgot about how Deng grew an inch last year. I mentioned this could also be possible for Thomas, because some of you are scared about his height. But don't forget that Deng played PF in college and has great footwork. He already is a great rebounder for a SF and his long arms are a clear advantage. IMO, Deng's stock will rise if this true and he continues to bulk up, and if Thomas takes off like he should, look at this as a possible lineup.
PG Hinrich
SG Gordon
SF Thomas
PF Deng
C Wallace

not to mention Thabo, Duhon, Noc, and 2007 pick.

College Deng
You beat me to it.  Deng played the 4 in college.  I would love to see him throw on the weight.  He alreadys has the mid range jump shot.  Also with his work ethic, I can easily see him developing an inside game.  Don't forget how young he is.  The weight will come, but the fact that he still is growing up is a definate plus.  Anybody have his measurement including reach when he was drafted?

deng
yeah i heard the same thing. scoop jackson was on quite frankly talkin bout the bulls and steven a. smith said that he heard that deng grew 2 inches! if deng can become a legit 4, we would fill that hole, and still have a great 3 in noc.

Yea that too...
That was my lineup in another year or so, given that Thomas blossoms early and Deng puts on weight. That was just a possible lineup since Thomas keeps telling everyone he'll be a SF.

Oh great, now what?
If the man from Sudan keeps growing, it only means one thing: he will not stop growing and will eventually be arrested. So much for a team of character.

manute
for all his faults, manute did and has done alot of good things...hes no mutombo or hakeem, but all the same. plus without him, our lil luol wouldnt know how to play

by milesgmsu on Jul 18, 2006 3:35 PM CDT up reply actions

I know, I'm joking
clearly because Luol allegedly grew an inch does not mean he will reach 7'7" and get arrested. But yeah, Manute deserves defending. Manute is a great guy and has done a lot for Luol, the poor, his tribe, and his country. He's also overcome a lot of adversity too. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manute_Bol The arrest thing is meaningless. for all I can tell, Luol is a great guy too. Even saw him at a Loyola U. game once to watch fellow countryman Majak Kou
