Useless Friday Information

Did you know ( Da na na, da na na!)

That in 72 games (1865 minutes) Eddy Curry had 19 assists all of last year. That's .3/game folks.

To put that in perspective, Steve Nash had two games this past year where he had  19 or more assists.  Ironically enough, Nash's season high 22 assist game was a game Curry got to witness in person, as it was against the Knicks.

Nothing like a little Curry bashing to get the weekend started.  It just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy!

Curry is the man...
...according to Isiah! Isiah thinks the key to turning around the Knicks is turning Curry into an all-star next year. Yeah, good luck with that. http://www.nypost.com/sports/knicks/curry_is_key_knicks_marc_berman.htm

to recap
Bulls made the playoffs for the first time in years, then traded Eddy Curry....lets see what has happened since then...
  1. Bulls still make the playoffs, with Sweetney, the player they got for Curry, starting at PF. Curry didn't even start half the time on the 2nd worst team in the league.
  2. Bulls get the Knicks draft pick, and becuase the Knicks were awful, Bulls end up with a promising player in Tyrus Thomas, while being able to keep their own draft pick and get a tall gaurd as well.
  3. With the $60 million dollars (or more) that they would have had to pay Curry, the Bulls signed Ben Wallace, one of the best centers in the NBA.
  4. The Knicks are projected to be a sad lottery team-again-next season, and the Bulls have the option to swap draft picks with New York next draft. So if the Knicks are as bad as they were this year the Bulls could be deciding between Hakim Noah or Greg Oden, and if the Knicks improve slightly but still miss the playoffs, the Bulls could get a player in mid-lotery who may have been top 5 this past season.
Really the only loss for the Bulls during this run was Antonio Davis, but he would have likley retired before next season anyway, and if the Bulls wanted him bad enough back and he didnt retire, they could probably sign him right now as a free agent. So the Bulls pretty much dominated the crap out of Isiah's face.

There's more
You forgot that we got 2 2nd round draft picks... look at the two picks like this

rodney carney (2 2nd rounders) = thabo + khraypa + $1M

the only downside is we had to eat alot of tim thomas' salary, and jim jackson didnt do anything
