PLAYOFF game thread: Bulls-Heat Game 4

Another must-win. On ABC, Sunday afternoon, big-time game.

Was Shaq's game 3 an aberration, or did the Bulls find a way to get him on the bench? I wouldn't bet on him being in immediate foul trouble again, but if the Bulls attack the rim like in game 3, good things can happen whether Shaq is in foul trouble or not.

Lets go Bulls!

1st quarter
Good defense by the Bulls, it's the offense that's lagging right now. Maybe they're a little too pumped. Ben needs to shoot a little more.

Good 1st Quarter
I liked what they were doing. Its good that they play both ways unlike miami.  If they keep shaq on the bench with fouls and play defense on Wade they should have this game won.

Watchin it on ABC
and the commentators seem to think this is a must win for the Bulls or else they don't have a shot at winning the series. I feel they can win in Miami. They were also saying this is the biggest game they have ever played in. I thought the Wizards series last year was pretty big.

I am beside myself right now. I have to leave to go to a graduation party, and I'm gonna be in the car for about an hour. My stupid friends couldn't schedule this around the Bulls game???

Argh!

Hope Neil and Bill are on their game today.

Noc...
That's 3 straight out of control shots for Andres.  I like his aggressiveness, but he's got to do better than that.

Sweets with several offensive rebounds this quarter. Zo looks like crap out there and he's taking advantage.

3-guard linkeup
7 minutes to go and Deng's out for Duhon. I know Deng has done absolutely nothing tonight, but in no way is it a better team with Duhon on the floor. I'm scared to death heading into the stretch.

by your friendly BullsBlogger on Apr 30, 2006 2:09 PM CDT reply actions

really scared
I do not like where this is headed...too much like the first 2 games. Close game, Wade will hit some shots at the end.

They can't stop Deng (when he gives a damn), and he's on the bench. I don't understand why they can't force the matchup problem instead of going small just because Miami does.

Absolutely frightened this game is gonna be given away.

Hung on
Wow, huge win. I keep doubting this team and am not sure why after games like this.

Hopefully Tyson just has a low pain tolerance and that ankle isn't as bad as it looked.

by your friendly BullsBlogger on Apr 30, 2006 2:42 PM CDT reply actions

Great, great game
Agree with you, Matt.  We need Tyson.  The Bulls have a shot to win this series (as me and Sam Smith both said before it started), but they need him.  Even if he's playing poorly statistically, another big body makes a difference.

The calls won't be as favorable Tuesday, so I hope they can keep up this shooting.

Yes, but the Bill Walton cracks were totally warranted. I can't stand him or his son.

Chandler
Im happy but home court is the key so thats why I think the Miami Thugs will win. Don't get me wrong but I want the Bulls to win and think they can. Chandler is the Key though.

I didn't
get to see all of the game because of a Confirmation but I liked what I did get to see of it. I recorded it so I will watch it later.

I hope Tyson will be ok. He is kind of a drama king so it's hard to tell. Bulls post game live is on Comcast at 6p.m. so they should know how he is by then.

Free Throws
Can you believe the free throw discrepancy today? Heat 21-33, Bulls 32-46. A great testament to our effort and persistence in consistently attacking the rim.

How about the little Family Feud in the Heat teamout before the half? Family Feud theme song "Gary Payton, come on down!"

Be sure to sign the back of your drivers license to be an ankle donor for Tyson Chandler. Hopefully he won't need one.

Bill Walton sure talks a lot about shrinking.........

Error
My bad on that free throw discrepancy, I was looking at last games box score...it was much more significant than that...I want to say we shot 26 more, but i'm not positive...safe to say for a team with Dwayne Wade and Shaq, it's great that we're getting to the line more than them!

Injury Update on Tyson . .
http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/basketball/bulls/cs-060430bullschandler,1,3599087.sto ry?coll=cs-home-headlines

"Tyson Chandler suffered a mild-to-moderate sprain to his right ankle and will be listed as day-to-day, Bulls officials said Sunday.

Chandler's injury came with 26.3 seconds left in the Bulls' Game 4 victory over the Heat on Sunday.

Chandler was hurt as the teams battled for a rebound. He stayed on the floor, writhing in pain after the Bulls called a timeout, and then had to be carried off the floor."

We're lucky, because it looked a hell of a lot worse than that.  He was just terrible today, so I'm not sure what we're going to get out of him now.

by Big D on Apr 30, 2006 4:09 PM CDT reply actions

I thought Tyson had a very good game
his numbers sucked, but he was doing a lot in there, and is their best defender against Shaq.

by your friendly BullsBlogger on Apr 30, 2006 4:26 PM CDT up reply actions

Jeez
I thought Tyson had a good game too. Not good numbers but he caused some offensive fouls on them and some turnovers too.

by sue369 on Apr 30, 2006 6:49 PM CDT up reply actions

Ouch!
It just looked like he tweaked it, with some ice and rehab it should be okay.

I sprained my ankle way worse than that.

Skiles post game
He called Noce " a man."  He said he's got experience, is a great defender.  And He's a man.  Genuinely tough, as opposed to having false bravado.  Hmmm.

He also said he doesn't understand why Kirk isn't on the all defensive team.  Me too, Scott, me too.
