More Hypocrisy From Riley
I was killing some time this morning when I came across this gem from Pat Riley.
SI.com: You gave Bruce Bowen his first real NBA break (with the Heat in '97). What did you think of Knicks coach Isiah Thomas' accusation earlier this season that Bowen intentionally sticks his foot under shooters when they're attempting jump shots?
Riley: I don't get caught up in that. I've learned one thing as a coach: If you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything. I used to say a lot of things when I was young. Bruce is a hell of a defender. I don't think there's any controversy. I don't think he does it intentionally. I just think opposing coaches get upset with it.
------------------------------------------------
Patty boy, you've had absolutely nothing good to say about Wade's injury and the accusation that Kirk intended on causing harm to the Golden Child. Take your own medicine and shut your mouth.

It's amazing

Also, from our old buddy John Hollinger, http://www.nysun.com/article/45884?page_no=1. Pretty funny article, and I think it's right on. He says Hinrich at most committed an incredibly common foul, nothing dirty about it, then goes on to discuss how Posey's was dirty, and was also in line with Pat Riley's coaching history. Pretty funny article - some good digs about the ridiculousness of Riley complaining about Wade not getting calls from the officials and about Riley's comments that Posey just got ball. Good read.
Hollinger is the man

Riley should get fined or suspended
This goes way beyond standing up for your players. It's about time that coaches take some heat for ordering up stuff like this.

Yet more from Riley
"Guys are going to try to dunk the ball and you're going to try to contest," Riley said. "There's the law of inertia. It was a hard fall. He got ejected from the game, which I thought was right. The suspension? You know, I don't think we had to go there with it. ... He wasn't trying to hurt him and there was no intent other than trying to block the shot."
After Wednesday's game, Riley tried to deflect attention from Posey by accusing Kirk Hinrich of injuring Dwyane Wade. Asked for his opinion on Paxson's similar lobbying for a sterner sentence, Riley scoffed.
"I don't really care," Riley said. "John's trying to protect his team and set a precedent and say we've done things in the past. That's just the general manager working behind the scenes. He didn't say anything derogatory. He just said he should be suspended."
