We can all see how raw Tyrus Thomas is, and sadly his play does remind me of Marcus Fizer. But with Deron Williams having a breakout season in his sophomore year, can it be possible that Tyrus will do the same next year?
Obviously Deron Williams is older, plays a different position, and got a few more minutes last year than Tyrus is getting this year, but his talent is there. When he develops a jumper, he'll be Kenyon Martin-like hopefully without all the injuries.
Lately people are down on the choice of Tyrus, but I say wait. Give his game time to grow. I still think by the end of the year, he'll be joining the regular rotation...if he stops taking 21 ft jump shots.
