Ten points about last night's Bulls game. Nothing too out-of-the-ordinary, although this part struck me as strange:4. Power Forward is more open than previously thought.
Khryapa might end up starting. Brown normally plays here and spent the bulk of his minutes at this position. Nocioni started there last year, as did Allen, and as did Sweetney, who played the 4 in the 4th quarter. Tyrus Thomas played most of his minutes here, as well. Skiles will probably want more of a shooter at the 4 while Wallace is at center, giving Ben free reign roaming for offensive boards without clogging the lane unduly, which would make you suspect Brown or Khryapa would start. Thomas is athletic as they come. A very quick jumper. He completely lacks polish, but should he start getting some, he's going to have some serious minutes. Sweetney is still in the doghouse with Skiles, but continues to be the best (perhaps only legit) low-post scorer on the team. Crowded field.
5. Small Forward is locked down.
Deng and Nocioni and about 20 minutes too few to go around. 'Nuff said.
Nevermind the use of the maddening phrase 'nuff said' (a pet peeve), I'm sure most of us can see the obvious solution to both the problem with "too few minutes" for Deng & Noc at the 3, and the "crowded field" at the 4: play Nocioni at the 4. Khrapya had a good game and all, but Noc has all those same skills, and he's, um, better.
