Take a deep breath...

Now curse out the Bulls and this losing streak.

::exhales::

OK. Now I feel a little better.

No more Bobcats till March 31st. However the Bulls will be around....being bad.

Suns on Saturday. I doubt I'll come up with anything comforting until they win though.

Confidence Lacking
My New Years Wish for the Bulls;

#1-Our bigs do not get in foul trouble

#2-Trade for a two guard without losing Hinrich or Deng. The Thomas contract gives us a lot of power in the marketplace.

#3-Play Hinrich at point exclusively

#4-Bring Duhon or Gordon off the bench depending which one of the two you trade for wish #2. Why didn't Gordon work on his dribbling over the summer?

#5-Fill the big man need in the draft because what's available now isn't great and would come at too steep of a price.

Lamarcus Aldridge here we come
So, here we are again.  We've done this for years, we've waited patiently, quietly reminding ourselves that we did win 6 championships in our lifetime.  Last night was as embarrasing a loss as I can remember, and to me pretty much signifies that were done.  We no longer have the suprise factor working in our favor, we no longer have the hustle factor in our favor.  Pretty much, we got nothing in our favor.  Now, if we can't, by some miracle, get Bosh, then its all aboard the Aldridge train.  We could even end up with 2 lottery picks, get two huge bastards, trade Gordon for someone...umm..good? and we could have a real team next year.

The draft
If that Knick pick isn't a top three pick, we better be ready to package both our picks (and maybe a player) for one of the top picks.  This years draft is gonna be the thinnest in years (thanks to Mr. Stern's age limit), and after Aldridge, I don't know who else is out there.

Ronnie Brewer
Chad Ford mentioned him in a chat as someone the Bulls might consider drafting with the Knicks pick.  He appears to have the potential to be the  "Mythical 2 guard who can defend and shoot" the Bulls need.  I don't follow college hoops so much - has anyone seen him play?  Could the Bulls use him?

Last Season
We were 10-18 at this point last season... let's keep things in perspective. It's a long season.

That said, can we get to the FT line? This seems to be our biggest problem.

(as of 12/29)

Bulls: 444 FTM / 628 FTA
Opponents: 638 FTM / 833 FTA

Our opponents have made more FTs that we have attempted!

Our leading scorer (Deng) gets to the line 3 times a game. THREE TIMES!

Only Mike Sweetney (115) has made more than 90 attempts from the line.

one of the biggest problems
every time the guards penetrate, instead of attacking the rim they run back out in a semi-circle to pass it off.  bizarre.  can't win games without drawing fouls and being aggressive.

Lineup
Trade Gordon or keep him on the bench

start Kirk at point, Deng at 2, and nocioni, tyson, sweets in the front.  bring duhon and gordon off the bench in the back.  i'm starting to believe ben is way too small to be an good in this league or at least with this team, where everyone is small.

Dalibor and Dragan

agree about Kirk
He's suffering when we plays the 2.  Just check out his PG vs SG PER on 82games.com

I have a feeling this recent hard practice for your playing time might be a move to try to get Gordon / Chandler going and starting again.

I want something to be positive about...
seeing it's New Year's Eve, but right now, I just feel like sticking my finger down my throat and vomitting.

I surely hope the Bulls management knows what it's doing waiting on next year's free agent crop and draft picks because this is really getting hard to watch.

The Bulls have absolutely no, none, nada, zero zilch, inside game and if the jumpers aren't falling, well, it's only a matter if they'll cover the spread. The regression is causing my depression.

Here's wishing the New Year brings the Bulls better fortune than they've had.
